Advice and Guidance NVQ Level 2

Advice and Guidance NVQ Level 2, accredited by City & Guilds, is the first step to a new career in careers advice. With the government focusing closely to the problem of unemployment there is currently a high demand for qualified careers advisors in the UK.

The Advice and Guidance NVQ Level 2 qualification is aimed primarily at candidates who operate and undertake support systems, processes and services and recognises that employment in the advice and guidance sectors involves a diverse range of functions, tasks and activities that are constantly developing in the light of changing client needs.

There are no prerequisites for this NVQ.

• Interact with clients using a range of media
• Develop personal performance through delivering customer service

Plus three optional units chose from the following:

• Enable advice and guidance clients to access referral opportunities
• Provide and maintain information materials for use in the service
  Support customer service improvements
• Promote additional services or products to customers
• Process customer service information
• Contribute to the identification of the risk of danger to individuals
• Contribute to the effectiveness of teams
• Receive and pass on messages and information
