Waste Management Awareness Training Course

This intensive one-day course covers the key elements of waste management, waste minimisation and helps your organisation stay within the law and is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM).

Waste management legislation is complex and getting it wrong could land your company and those involved in an expensive court case. Managing your company’s waste properly means more than simply covering your legal back, and the costs of waste surrounding your organisation are not always obvious.

Designed for those people who require a sound understanding of the issues involved in satisfying legal requirements and the associated practical implications including waste minimisation, this course will enable you to understand waste, types of waste and how and where it is produced in the workplace, and will also enable you to initiate a company waste minimisation programme with the aim of ensuring that these requirements are fulfilled in practice.

As well as identifying the legal obligations of all those handling waste this course provides practical solutions for waste management practices and significant cost savings. Companies with ISO 14001 certified systems can demonstrate improved competency in their management of waste and particularly if seeking improvements in this area this course can help to identify potential opportunities. Delegates are required to complete a multi-choice exam paper at the end of the course.
