International House London is an established and well-known language school, with over fifty years of experience providing language courses and teacher training. We are based in a spacious, air-conditioned and fully-equipped campus, just a few minutes walk from Covent Garden in the heart of London.

IH London welcomes over 7000 language students and professional clients from 150 countries each year, making the school a vibrant and multicultural place to learn. Whether you want to study part-time, full-time, in the evening or one-to-one, we have an option to suit you. You could learn a modern language; study English for a specialist profession, train as an English language teacher, prepare for an exam, or take a cultural training course for international business.

Facilities
IH London has wi-fi access throughout the building, over 30 computer terminals with free email and internet access, a library with over 10,000 books, a specialist language laboratory for practice listening and pronunciation, bookshop and cafeteria. Our classrooms are comfortable and spacious, with audio-visual equipment and interactive whiteboards to help you learn.

Executive Centre

On the top floor of the building is our Executive Centre, a dedicated learning environment for business professionals. Corporate clients and business people come here to study English in small, focused groups of six, or one-to-one with a specialist business English teacher. We can also create bespoke English training courses for particular professions or companies.

The Executive Centre also offers cultural training for international businesses and professional clients. This can help if you are re-locating to a new country, managing international staff or trading across borders. English training for specialist professions is another option if you need to improve your vocabulary for a particular industry - for example, English for oil and gas industries.

Teaching and experience
As a large school, we offer 14 levels of study, which means you’ll always be closely matched with people of a similar ability, helping you to make much faster progress. Lessons are focused and interactive, and your teacher will assess your progress regularly. Outside of lessons, there are busy social programmes for students and business clients, as well as a dedicated Student Service team responsible for your welfare.

Each department of the school has a dedicated Director of Studies. Highly experienced in their field, many have worked as teachers and teacher trainers themselves. Each director is responsible for maintaining the very high standard of our courses, by recruiting knowledgeable, enthusiastic and well-qualified teachers. Many of our teachers have studied at International House themselves, and all are native speakers of the language in question. They have extensive experience of teaching to different age ranges, including adult learners.
