Managing Remote Teams

Remote working is becoming increasingly common and often poses new challenges for managers. ProSeminar's Managing Remote Teams looks at the specifics of managing remote and virtual teams and explores how management style and approach to team-working needs to be adjusted accordingly.

Emphasis is placed on building relationships, managing performance and supporting the individual both technologically and personally. The course is relevant both for those already managing remotely and for managers from organisations considering developing remote working.

Managing Remote Teams is designed for:

• Managers of teams where some members work ‘off-site’, e.g. on clients’ premises, on assignments overseas, in the ‘field’, from a home base or a satellite office.
• Managers considering developing remote working.

This CMI short course is an interactive course which provides participants with the opportunity both to learn from the expertise of the tutor and to pool experiences, learn from each other and exchange models of good practice. Course numbers are restricted to a maximum of 12 people to ensure maximum participation.

CMI (The Chartered Management Institute) is the UK's leading professional body for managers. Its aim is to support and develop management excellence and it provides a wide range of services to members, corporate organisations and individuals accordingly. This remit includes presenting the Chartered Management Institute’s Short Course Programme for Management and Professional Development. Since 2004 this has been run in association with ProSeminar, a trainer-led company, which was set up in 2004 by a group of CMI’s long-standing Associate Consultants to take forward the Institute’s pubic course programme.

CMI’s Short Course Programme offers a series of one, two and three-day public courses which are held regularly at ProSeminar’s London training centre in the City. All courses are also available on an in-company basis. ProSeminar usually restricts course participants to a maximum of 12 people per course (often less) to ensure high levels of interaction and participation. All ProSeminar’s tutors have strong academic and professional backgrounds with wide experience both as trainers and managers.
