NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety - 6 week course + examinations

The NEBOSH Certificate is the most widely recognised qualification for Managers, Supervisors and personnel accountable for health and safety responsibilities. It offers an excellent grounding in the essentials of health and safety. For employees who want to develop a career in health and safety, the Certificate is the first step and the key foundation for higher professional qualifications.

It comprises 3 units: Unit 1 Management of Health and Safety, the core unit for all the NEBOSH qualifications that can be added to with the NEBOSH Fire Certificate units 2 and 3 and/or Construction Certificate Units 2 and 3. Unit 2 is Controlling Workplace Hazards and Unit 3 is a practical assessment.

The NEBOSH Certificate covers the main legal requirements for safety in the UK, and methods of control of workplace hazards. The Certificate syllabus is based on the Employment National Training Organisation (ENTO) standards. These are reviewed regularly to keep up with developments in the workplace and in legislation.

This NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety training course is designed for personnel e.g. managers, supervisors, non-safety specialists etc with health & safety responsibilities & who need a grounding & recognised qualification in occupational safety & health.

Pre-requisites: No previous health & safety knowledge is required but delegates must be able to write short reports.

The practical examination is normally carried out at the delegate's work premises and involves a physical inspection of a workplace to assess the hazards. It is designed to test delegate's ability to complete a health & safety assessment and produce a management style report on their findings.
