UKATA Asbestos Removal New Operative Training

This UKATA Accredited course is designed for all persons about to begin work within the asbestos removal industry who have received no prior training. The training syllabus complies with the new Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and all HSE guidance as outlined in chapter 4 of HSG247.

This course will provide thorough training for new operatives who will be undertaking licensed asbestos removal work. This course includes a mix of both theoretical and practical elements.

The operative must demonstrate that they have acquired the necessary understanding of the course. Modules are set and an overall pass rate of 80% is required.

Course contents:

• Types, uses and risks of asbestos-containing
• materials (ACMs).
• Health hazards of asbestos.
• Legislation.
• Enclosure set up, maintenance and dismantling.
• Controlled stripping techniques.
• Respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
• Personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE).
• Transit procedures and decontamination.
• Cleaning and clearance air testing.
• Plant and equipment.
• Waste management and disposal.
• Emergency procedures.
• Fault finding.
• Roles and responsibilities.
• Site inspections and record keeping.
• Management systems and monitoring.

This course has been designed to provide theoretical and practical examples of best practice for licensable work with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).

We are able to offer courses of up to12 delegates on any one day whilst ensuring that each training group is never larger than 6 delegates.

All delegates achieving a satisfactory standard in all practical and theoretical assessments for this course will be given certificates and wallet sized training identity cards as proof of their meeting the required standards.

This course has been accredited by The UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA).

We also offer a one day Operative Refresher training course for those delegetes who have previously attended the three day New Operative course within the last twelve months.

All delegates achieving a satisfactory standard in all practical and theoretical assessments for this course will be given an individual UKATA Accredited Certificate and wallet sized training identity card as proof of their meeting the required standards.
