INSPIRE young people - talk about your job and career

At Findcourses.co.uk we are keen to encourage our site visitors UK-wide to INSPIRE young people - by getting involved in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

CSR is all about being a good corporate citizen and "putting something back" into our local communities.

Findcourses.co.uk are working with not-for-profit Growing Ambitions and enable you to volunteer a half-an-hour talk about your job and career to young people near you. Sign up as an individual – and if you are an HR manager, consider offering this easy volunteering opportunity more widely among your staff.

Remember the careers information you got at school? Careers advisers continue to be under-resourced and need the input from the world of work. Their young people need information to help them make informed career choices.

How to volunteer

Sign up takes just a few minutes » Register Now. Volunteers can speak just once, or as many times as they like. They can opt out at any time, with a few mouse clicks.

Once registered volunteers can be invited in by a secondary school, college or university home and/or workplace – at any time in the future.

Four simple steps:

  1. Register to Speak – a few minutes to complete a screen, and confirm email address
  2. Wait to be contacted by a careers adviser (from nearby)
  3. To and fro by email with them to fix a good date and time
  4. Go in and speak.

Here’s a » Speaker’s Guide with a few useful tips.

Encourage others to volunteer to speak about their jobs as well. (If your organisation has over 500 employees, it can have a ‘white label’ portal, like this one, on its website or intranet. For more info visit growingambitions.org – see White Label.)
