Course description

Using a precedent form of lease may make drafting the lease easy, but do you know why particular wording is used or how it should be amended? If the other side makes an amendment, do you know the standard compromise position or whether you should accept their amendment? If not, this live and interactive session is for you.

Aimed primarily at those who are relatively inexperienced at drafting and negotiating commercial leases, this virtual classroom session with leading trainer Peta Dollar will focus entirely on drafting initial clauses and amendments, using numerous examples of the trickiest clauses in leases.

Topics for discussion will include alienation, contracting out of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, and rent review. Service charges, break clauses and yielding up obligations will also be considered, alongside alterations, and avoiding problems with VAT.
