Course description

Landlord and tenant law is complex and is currently undergoing rigorous change. When advising on a leasehold transaction, a range of ancillary issues can arise, and which must be dealt with prior to exchange and completion.


This virtual classroom seminar explores the more common disputes that can arise, including how to deal with them efficiently to avoid delays with the transaction.


Topics discussed by expert speaker Mari Knowles will include an overview of the current landscape, unauthorised alterations, service charge disputes, and major works. Landlord development to the building will also be covered, along with absentee landlords, and other practical problems, such as obtaining responses to LPE1s, disclosure of documents, licenses to assign/deeds of covenant, and effective apportionment negotiations.
