Course description

In financial remedy cases, sometimes a new event can occur that invalidates the basis or the fundamental assumption on which a financial remedy order was made. This is known as the Barder principle. Under the Barder principle an application can be made to challenge the order.


Presented by barrister Jack Henry, this virtual classroom seminar will provide an overview and analysis of Barder v Barder and then a series of other cases in which the courts have considered the Barder principle.
