Course description
Advocacy in the Magistrates Court continues to challenge prosecutors, especially those faced with half a dozen trials to deal with in a day. Whilst there is no 'one size fits all’ for trials, the experienced advocate will quickly be able to adopt a case theory and pick and choose tactics to deploy and present an effective case.
Presented by former barrister and highly regarded speaker Clive Smith, this live and interactive online session will tackle what to say in an opening and closing speech and how not to repeat yourself. It will also deal with how to effectively cross-examine the defendant especially where evidence in chief might last 20 seconds and consist of adopting the account presented in interview.
