Chinese Beginners 3

This course continues from Chinese Beginners 2 and aims at further boosting students’ interests in learning the language, providing learning tips and advice, and developing the ability to interact with people from different professions. The course allows students to gain a deeper understanding of cultural differences in people’s social behaviour.

Communicative activities and tasks continue to play an important role in class and students are encouraged to write short passages using Chinese characters. There is a midway consolidation session and an overview at the end of the course of all the main grammar points covered.

By the end of the course, students are able to understand the language used in daily life activities and converse with confidence about real-life social situations in a limited number of contexts. They are able to read road signs, keep notes and complete tasks such as borrowing a book and changing money Around 130 new words are learned, bringing the total to around 340.
