UKATA Asbestos Awareness Training (Half day)
This half day training course has been accredited by the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA), and aims to cover the following areas:
- To provide an understanding of the health effects associated with asbestos materials
- To provide the attendees with an appreciation of the new legislation
- To enhance the awareness of employees in relation to asbestos containing materials
The learning outcomes of this training course are:
- Identify typical products & materials that contain asbestos
- Understand the health hazards associated with asbestos
- Responsibilities imposed by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006
Candidates are required to complete a short multiple choice question paper at the end of the course, to confirm their understanding.

Suitability and application
This UKATA Asbestos Awareness Training course is designed for personnel who may in connection with their normal duties come into contact with materials that may contain asbestos, as required by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.
The course is also appropriate for supervisory / management personnel as an introduction to the subject.
It is also a requirement if you are emply trades such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, fire alarm engineers, IT installation personnel and similar and intend to register for CHAS, Constructionline or Safecontractor approval.
