Known as the Transfer of Undertakings regulations 2006 or TUPE, it has become a significant part of the United Kingdom's labour law by protecting those employees whose company has been acquired by another business. The objective of the regulation is to protect the employee by ensuring they are not dismissed, their contracts are not worsened or they have representatives which they can consult with or be informed by. Since 2006, many training courses have developed for further education.
