It really depends on the subject - but they average about 4 to 8 weeks.

You might never complete it as the 90% of individuals who start a MOOC.

Who cares if you complete it or not? It's free!!
You can sign up to 100 different ones and never finish any and it still won't matter. Probobly a waste of time just having to sign up and fill in the forms but if you have time to spare then go ahead.

If you're interested in MOOCs, we've just written this article with some key facts about them and how they may develop in the future.
Aside from the dubious pun in the title, it is actually quite informative!

I recently enrolled on a MOOC with FutureLearn that was 3 weeks long. I would say the time commitment was 3-4 hours per week.
Then again, I was toying with the idea of taking another one (in a more technical subject) and that one lasts 7 weeks. And I imagine it would take much longer per week too, since it's a completely new topic and I have absolutely zero skills.
Seems like the original 4-8 weeks reply is more or less accurate anyhow!
