Need accredited Diploma as Pharmacy Assistant - Forum
Hi there Maz,
thanks for your post.
In truth, being a Pharmacy Assistant (at least in the UK) does not require you to have a specific diploma or to take a specific course.
If you visit the NHS website, you can see that the entry requirements are stated as having "a good standard of education and some GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) can be an advantage. Some posts may require specific GCSE grades or (equivalent) - such as A to C in English, maths and a science subject."
If you do not have these (or equivalent) qualifications, you can find many different providers in the UK that offer the possibility to take them. In most cases, you will then receive on-the-job training towards a Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills when you start your job so it is not necessary for you to complete the training beforehand.
Hope this helps!
Best of luck,
