Hi Anne,

thank you for posting.

You have a couple of options when it comes to developing your skills further. You can look for short, non-accredited CPD courses that allow you to keep up-to-speed with the latest developments. Otherwise, you can look to move on to a more advanced qualification at Level 5, which are suitable "suitable for experienced workers who manage or take a lead role in a care setting, or work role".

The most popular is probably the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services, which is accredited by both City & Guilds and CACHE.

As you can tell from the title, the qualification really focuses on the managerial and leadership aspects, so I think it's important to think about which stage you are at in your career and where it is the right step to take at this moment in time. You can always try to contact some awarding organisations and/or training providers to ask for some advice, as well as professional or voluntary associations such as the BAAF (British Association for Adoption and Fostering).

Best of luck!
