Learning at Work Day 2012 Success

Success at Learning at Work Day 2012

Successful Learning at Work Day Events in 2012

What a success for the first year of our partnership with the CfL - we helped organise more than 40 Learning at Work Day events through our Match-Making at workplaces across the country.

From workshops and taster sessions, live streamed webcast’s and even a tele-workshop – Findcourses.co.uk helped put training providers in front of audiences that were keen to get a taste of what they offer, for future training purchasing.

All workplaces had their own take on Learning at Work Day and used it as an opportunity to motivate, inspire and grow themselves and their colleagues. Here are some details from a workplace and a training provider that we helped last year.

Learning at Work Day Theme 2012: Learning to Grow

Company Case Study: PAREXEL International

Tania Tiippana, Learning & Development Consultant at PAREXEL International, had not heard of Learning at Work Day before she attended the HRD 2012 exhibition and met Findcourses.co.uk. It was 'great timing', for Tania, who was looking for a way to inspire her employees to want to learn as part of their development and to create a culture of learning in their workplace.

Findcourses.co.uk helped PAREXEL International reach providers that delivered workshops that matched the Company Values and would be directly relatable to both employees and management.

Tania used Learning at Work Day as a way of “giving employees a taste of Professional Development training on a day that is celebrated nationally". It was an opportunity "to inspire and motivate employees to develop themselves.”

In just one day, Findcourses.co.uk organised 4 workshops with providers we work with in areas of Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Time Management and Women in Leadership for PAREXEL International.

The workshops each lasted between an hour and a half, and were interactive and 'taster' in nature - introducing topics that aimed to “inspire employees to undertake further professional development".

Overall, Learning at Work Day at PAREXEL International helped to "create a positive and lasting learning culture in an environment in which employees might be time poor and aren’t used to taking time away from work duties for on-going professional development”, Tania Tiippana.

After gaining the interest in training from employees, PAREXEL International went onto purchase training programmes from the providers that delivered taster sessions for international roll-out.

Training Provider Case Study: FranklinCovey

Learning at Work Day also benefits training providers who are able to highlight their training services to thousands of workplaces across the UK, and generate interest in their training as part of a national campaign.

FranklinCovey was one of many training providers that took part in LAW Day 2012 with Findcourses.co.uk. Findcourses.co.uk contacted them after receieving a request for Time Management and Efficiency Skills training for an international company looking to trial the training on a group of employees before investing in a company wide training programme. FranklinCovey delivered a one hour taster session of their "The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity" programme to a group of 20 participants.

David Watts, Client Partner at FranklinCovey told Findcourses.co.uk that “taking part in Learning at Work Day 2012 gave us a great opportunity to meet both new potential clients and those directly exposed to the learning, something we certainly see great benefits in our overall involvement”.
