Training Course Content
You will have a fully CIPD approved tutor for each module who will provide unlimited support between classes and submitting your assignment. Our tutors teach modules which they specialise in, offering you the benefits of their experience. Tutors will share the resources you need before each class allowing you time to prepare. They will bring the subject to life, drawing on their own experiences and those within the group.
When you sign up to a CIPD Level 5 qualification you will receive an e-textbook and get access to our student hub. The hub contains a wealth of resources to widen your understanding and support you to successfully complete your assignments.
The CIPD Level 5 courses are broken down into modules. At the end of each module you will have a written assessment which is marked by your tutor. All assessments go through a rigorous internal and external verification processes. This ensures Acacia consistently meets the highest quality standards set by the CIPD.
Assessments will vary between each module but will always have a practical application. For example you may need to write a project plan or a briefing paper.
Developing Professional Practice (Core)
Develop a sound understanding of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by Human Resources professionals. Whether you are in a generalist or specialist role, and as described in the CIPD Profession Map. The module covers the personal competencies required by employers for HR professionals. This includes collaborating and working with others, and functioning efficiently and effectively within a professional environment. You will also gain the skills needed for ethical, people-focused and professional practice.
Business Issues and the Contexts of Human Resources (Core)
As a HR professional you need to be able to understand key developments in the business and external contexts within which HR operates. It will help you to identify and review the business and external factors affecting organisations and to assess the impacts on the HR function. It also examines HR’s role in strategy formulation and implementation. The course is designed to encourage you to provide workable organisational and HR solutions.
Using Information in Human Resources (Core)
As a HR professional you will need to be able to present a realistic case for improvement. Based on sound work-based research and an understanding of what is considered good practice. This core module focuses on developing research skills to help learners to identify data sources, analyse data and to evaluate and present a business case for improvement.
Managing and Coordinating the Human Resources Function (Core)
This course introduces you to human resources activity and to the role of the HR function in different organisations. It focuses on delivering HR objectives and building stakeholder relationships. It also covers the case for professionalism and an ethical approach to HR, as well as the role played by HR managers in facilitating and promoting effective change management.
Resourcing and Talent Planning
This module will give you the key operational tools, techniques and practices that organisations use to resource their organisations effectively. You will build an understanding of labour market trends, talent planning, employee retention and employee exit processes. The course will provide an overview of the way different organisations are managing these activities and which are the most effective in the context of diverse and distributed locations.
Develop a broad understanding of how the business context drives reward strategies and policies. Including labour market, industrial and sector trends, regional differences and trends in pay and international comparisons. The financial drivers of the organisation, and the impact of reward costs.
You will be required to gather and evaluate intelligence on a wide range of reward data and show how this impacts upon business decisions. You will acquire knowledge of the principles and policies of reward and learn how to implement them in practice.
Implementing Coaching and Mentoring
This module provides a comprehensive understanding of theory and applying coaching and mentoring in organisations for a range of stakeholders. You will learn how to assess the benefits of implementing coaching and mentoring in organisations and make recommendations.
This module provides a broad understanding of the concept of employee engagement and how to apply this in different contexts. It covers the components of employee engagement and the processes through which high levels of engagement can be secured and sustained within an organisation. You will explore the impact of comprehensively applying human resources policies, strategies and practices on engagement.
This module introduces the major areas of employment legislation and the employment law system. Focusing on ways in which day-to-day HR activities are subjected to some form of regulation. By the end of this module you will understand employment law, the tribunal/courts system, how it is managed and the employee journey.
Developing and Using Consultancy Skills
Within this module you will develop your understanding of how to operate as a consultant, different consultancy roles and the key stages in the consulting process. You will explore the range of skills and techniques required to be effective in a HR consulting role for each stage of the process. This includes, working with clients to address a business need, agreeing a solution through to evaluation and closure. At the end of the module, you should be more confident in providing customised HR solutions to meet the needs of different clients. The skills needed to negotiate deliverables as a consultant will also be addressed.
