National Art and Design Saturday Club

National Art and Design Saturday Club is a free of charge program for 13–16-year olds that forms part of the Sorrell Foundation’s National program.

Suitability - Who should attend?

The National Art and Design Saturday Club is free and places go to students who want to expand their creative skills and are committed to every Saturday morning throughout the Autumn and Spring term.

All materials, equipment and educational visit costs for this course will be covered by Activate Learning.

Training Course Content

The aim of this club is to nurture young people’s talent, build their confidence and self-esteem, give them an insight into college life, and show them the pathway into further and higher education and to careers in the creative industries.

The National Art and Design Saturday Club is free and places go to students who want to expand their creative skills and are committed to every Saturday morning throughout the Autumn and Spring term. All materials, equipment and educational visit costs for this course will be covered by college.

Following successful completion of this course, you can go on to do the following courses:

  • Art and Design UAL (University of Arts London) Level 3 Extended Diploma
  • Graphics Pathway – UAL (University of Arts London) Level 3 Extended Diploma

Course delivery details

Club members will receive 60–70 hours of expert tuition, which includes the opportunity to take part in a wide range of stimulating activities based in Reading College’s specialist facilities, workshops and studios.

Areas you will learn about include: photography (darkroom and digital), graphic design, animation, printmaking, textiles, fashion, ceramics, 3D, painting and drawing.

There is no formal assessment.
