AutoCAD Essentials Course
Learn the fundamentals of AutoCAD on this 2-day course and quickly get up to speed with the different commands and features included within the latest version of AutoCAD.

As we are an Autodesk Authorised Training and Certification Centre, you will be awarded an Autodesk certificate on completion of the course to prove to employers and clients that you are competent in AutoCAD.
We only ever allow a maximum of 6 delegates on our courses to enable maximum interaction with the tutor.

The duration of this course is 2 days.
We are an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre. Students will be awarded an Autodesk certificate on completion of the course.
The price of this course includes lunch, refreshments, textbook and a shortcuts guide.
After attending this course there will be an opportunity to sit an accredited AutoCAD exam to further your skill level, as we are one of the few registered Autodesk certification centres in the UK.
AutoCAD Course Agenda:
DAY 1: LEARNING ABOUT THE AUTOCAD ENVIRONMENT
Students will learn the vital skills to learn how to successfully navigate the AutoCAD user interface and take full advantage of what the AutoCAD interface has to offer. These will include:
- Creating new workspaces
- Setup options
- Object snaps
- Selecting objects
- Customising the CUI
DISCOVER THE DIFFERENT DRAW TOOLS
Learn how to draw different shapes and objects to create impressive and realistic visuals.
Drawing an array of shapes such as polylines, rectangles, circles, squares, polygons and more. Using Linetypes to create parallel and offset Geometry creating object patterns
LEARN HOW TO USE THE MODIFY TOOLS AND LAYER MANAGEMENT
Learning how to use the modify tools efficiently is essential when learning how to use AutoCAD to be able to create precise drawings. You will learn how to:
- Change an object’s size
- Create a mirror image
- Trimming and extending objects
- Changing object properties
- Learning about the properties palette
- Create different layer groups and filters
DAY 2: CREATING BLOCKS AND DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS
Students will learn how to create and edit blocks, annotative scaling and dimensions to enhance their drawings. This includes:
- Creating and editing blocks
- Adding attributes
- Annotative scaling
- Multiline text
- Text styles
- Creating and editing text
- Editing dimension styles and multi-leaders
PLOTTING CAD DRAWINGS
Learn how to plot different drawings with AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. The final tasks will include:
- Plotting drawings
- Exporting to PDFs
- Linking spreadsheet data to the drawings
- Working with DesignCenter

Suitability - Who should attend?
No previous AutoCAD experience is necessary. A general working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and basic knowledge of English language and literacy are required.
