Suitability - Who should attend?
Adults (19+) who would like to develop their English skills for everyday life and work and achieve an Entry 3 Functional Skills qualification.
Training Course Content
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Read and understand different types of text and find information from them
- Read for different purposes (eg. find detail, get the main idea, decide if it’s worth reading)
- Plan, draft and organise writing, so that it is in a sensible order
- Write for different purposes and different readers and use correct basic grammar
- Check work for accuracy, including spelling
- Develop an awareness of phonemes (letter sounds) to improve spelling and reading
- Take an effective part in formal and informal discussions
