Overview
This course will teach you all the creative elements you need to design fashion and textiles using Photoshop, transforming your ideas and inspiration into successful digital designs for your portfolio.
The course covers the following main topics:
Translating sketched designs and illustrations to digital format on Photoshop
Creating textile motifs elements from scanned images, photographs or drawings
Applying colour, pattern and artistic effects/ fabric simulations to digital illustrations
Developing a collection of colourways and design variations
Tuition is delivered in small groups and our expert tutors are able to support you with your individual learning requirements.
Tutor Description
Chika Iwenofu is a freelance Fashion & Textile Designer who graduated from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, where she received her BA (Hons) in Textile Design. Previously a designer at a prestigious weaving mill in the UK, Chika has produced fabric collections catering to the luxury fashion and interior markets, and has developed a wealth of knowledge on computer aided design (CAD) and the fashion and textile industry.
Courses take place in BOCK Training’s Fashion and Textiles IT Suite equipped with high quality software and facilities.
Suitability
This course is suitable for beginners who currently have basic to no knowledge of Photoshop. This course is fantastic for people who currently work/study in the Fashion and Textile field or are planning to. This is also a great course for anyone who would like to develop their computer design /IT skills.
Images to work from will be provided, however, please feel free to bring in any drawing/ sketches /textile designs you have to use.
