Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship
Working in financial services opens up a broad variety of careers, all of which are based on managing money, or consulting on managing money. You choose to study one of the following pathways; Investment Management and Retail or Commercial Banking.
As a Financial Services Professional, you must have excellent communication skills, an ability to understand, interpret and fulfil client requirements to the highest standards, demonstrating an ethical and professional approach.
No matter which qualification pathway you wish to complete, this programme will equip you with a broad understanding of the wider financial environment which is essential in order for you to appreciate your own role and the ways in which you can make an impact within an organisation.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You must be employed in a role relevant to this programme to be eligible to apply. Entry requirements are set by individual employers, but the requirements for each pathway are as follows:
Investment Management
- CFA Level I:
- You will need at least four years work experience or degree before taking CFA Level I.
- PCIAM:
- CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma; or
- IMC + CISI Level 4 Securities or Derivatives
Retail or Commercial Banking
- A minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and mathematics

Qualification achieved
You will receive one of the below qualifications depending on which pathway you choose.
Investment Management
- CFA Level I; or
- CISI Private Client Investment Advice and Management (PCIAM)
Retail or Commercial Banking
- Associated Chartered Banker Diploma
Continuing Studies
Further career development through work experience upon completion of any qualification.
Investment Management
- Further study onto a Level 7 programme, such as Senior Investment/Commercial Banking Professional Apprenticeship, or CISI Chartered Wealth Manager programme, or
- For the CFA pathway:
- Further study of CFA Level II and III to gain full charter status
- Further study onto a Level 7 programme such as Senior Investment/Commercial Banking Professional Apprenticeship programme
Retail or Commercial Banking
- You will be eligible to apply for membership with the Chartered Banker Institute (CBI)
- Further study onto a Level 7 programme such as Senior Investment/Commercial Banking Professional Apprenticeship programme
