Network Engineer Level 4 Apprenticeship

Network engineers are typically required to design, install, maintain and support communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. This involves high levels of continued operation to provide maximum performance and availability for the end users in your business. They will understand network configuration and administration, cloud setup, monitoring tools and providing technical advice and guidance.

The Network Engineer Apprenticeship is aligned with industry recognised professional qualifications, providing organisations with a more competent and qualified workforce, while simultaneously increasing learner motivation, enhancing their job prospects and wellbeing. The following additional Vendor Certifications can be considered as further qualifications.

Suitability - Who should attend?

Set by individual employers, but must include one of the following:

  • A minimum of five GCSEs grade A – C (9 – 4 on the new grading system), or
  • A Level 3 qualification achieved by one of the following: A levels, NVQ/SVQ Level 3, or a BTEC National

Applicants must be employed in a relevant role to apply

  • How to apply diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Knowledge on how to apply a structured approach to troubleshooting network issues
  • Details on performing system upgrades
  • Integration of network-related software into an existing network environment
  • How to interpret written requirements and technical specifications
  • Logging and responding to network service calls
  • The work required to document completed tasks in accordance with agreed procedures
  • How to operate within the parameters of SLAs, standards and/or agreed response times
  • What it takes to operate effectively in a business environment.

Course delivery details

  • All BPP technology programmes are available online live, providing ultimate flexibility and efficiency for your business
  • There are four modules delivered via weekly live lectures using our award-winning Adobe Connect classroom (sessions are also available on-demand and last between 1.5 and 3 hours)
  • E-learning content that includes video lectures, digital reading and case studies delivered on the BPP learning platform
  • Monthly one-to-one meetings with their dedicated Coach
  • Quarterly online coaching clinics which offer the opportunity for employees to ask questions, hear from technical experts and share ideas amongst their peer group on how to tackle their portfolio
  • Learners are required to demonstrate the ongoing application of skills to their job role and build a portfolio of evidence that supports their professional development throughout the duration of the programme
