NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety is widely regarded as the first step to becoming a fully qualified health and safety professional. New syllabus (launched September 2019) is now available.
It is designed to provide delegates with an in-depth understanding of health & safety legislation and its practical application in the workplace. Focusing on real-world scenarios, the programme takes a jargon-free approach with the goal of clearly outlining legal obligations as well as best practice in a range of key health & safety areas. These include identifying different types of workplace hazard (electrical, fire, chemical, physical etc.), risk control, policy, planning, auditing & reviewing techniques.
The 2-week programme is followed by one exam and a workplace-based risk assessment task, after which participants will receive the NEBOSH Certificate and step closer to a career in health & safety.
The British Safety Council also offers an online version of this course, giving delegates 12 months to complete the course & assessments with remote support from a highly qualified team of tutors.
