Course description
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, a ‘responsible person’ from an organisation must carry out a fire risk assessment, be responsible for fire safety, produce a fire emergency plan, and implement and maintain a fire risk management system.
This fire safety management training course has been designed to provide the responsible person with the knowledge, skills and understanding to ensure that they, and the organisation, meet their legal obligations.

Who should attend
This fire safety management training course is for professionals with responsibility for fire safety management in the workplace. You may be a fire safety manager, facilities manager, with either a little or a good working knowledge of fire safety.

Training Course Content
- Fire safety management framework; relevant legislative requirements; the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order
- Enforcement & consequences; duties and responsibilities; liaison with local authorities and emergency services
- Fire risk assessments; chemistry of combustion; methods of fire travel; cost of arson; current statistics and cost profile
- Fire precautions; human behaviour; the role of the Fire Marshal/Warden
- Active & passive fire protection; protecting people and property
- Fire Safety Plan/Strategy; evacuation of a building; fires in the workplace
- Fire hazards; examples of non-conformity; penalties and sanctions
