Course description
This two year qualification will equip all who wish to teach in the Education and Training Sector (16+) and those who deliver substantial continuing professional development (CPD) in the workplace.
The programme is designed for in-service teachers as well as trainers who deliver CPD in the workplace. The programme consists of mandatory units at level 4 (HE Level 1) and Level 5 (HE Level 2), and is awarded at Level 5. It has a total value of 120 credits.
The Diploma requires at least 100 hours of teaching/training practice across the two years. There must be a minimum of 8 observations completed during the course, totalling a minimum of 8 hours. Please note this is a 2-year programme so teaching/training hours should be arranged to cover both years of study of the qualification. For the purposes of the diploma, teaching is defined as full group teaching (more than 5 students).
The course will be on a Tuesday every week of the college term in the Cambridge campus for 3 hours 1pm - 4pm.
Trainees will be provided with an academic tutor throughout.
Modules of study include:
Inclusive Practice- how to plan and deliver a session which meets the needs of all learners/delegates.
Teaching, Learning and Assessment – top tips as well as the theory behind how we learn and how to fully engage everyone in your session.
Developing Resources- designing online and hands on resources to engage and support learning.
Please note that L3 Award in Education & Training is not a pre-requisite for entry on to the level 5. The course fee covers the full two years.
