Course description
Provides a substantial part of the training required to qualify as an Electrician and an understanding of the theory and governing regulations. It builds on the skills achieved at Level 2.
Course Content
Understand and apply health & safety and environmental considerations.
Electrical scientific principles & technologies.
Understand design and installation practices and procedures.
Understand how to plan and oversee electrical work activities.
Organise and oversee electrical work environment.
Understand terminations and connections of conductors.
Terminate and connect conductors.
Apply design and installations practices and procedures.
Apply practices and procedures for maintenance.
Understand inspection, testing and commissioning.
Inspect, test and commission electrical systems.
Understand and apply fault diagnosis rectification.
Understand the requirements for electrical installations BS7671:2018.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will need GCSEs Grade 8-4 (A-C) which must include English Language and Math’s or Level 2 Functional Skills equivalent (set requirements). You will also need to have a strong, demonstrable interest in Electrical, particularly in your chosen field of Installation or Maintenance or have previously completed level 2. You must be employed (with contract of apprenticeship) full time (minimum 30hrs) and paid as a PAYE employee.
