Run in collaboration with coaching and mentoring specialists from The OCM, the CIPD Foundation Certificate in Organisational Coaching is designed to help you develop core coaching and mentoring skills.

The qualification is completed via a number of training methods, assessments and exercises, including a 1-day face-to-face briefing session, telephone coaching sessions with a coach mentor, discussion groups, workshops, self-assessment exercises and a final submission file.

The programme is professionally accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and holds a European Quality Award (EQA) at foundation level. In addition, it complies with the latest professional standards and the code of ethics issued by the EMCC.

This qualification is suitable for HR and L&D professionals looking to develop coaching skills and knowledge to incorporate into their working roles.

On successful completion of the programme, you’ll be awarded the Foundation Certificate in Organisational Coaching. The qualification is professionally accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and holds a European Quality Award (EQA) at Foundation Level.

On completion of the qualification you will be able to:

  • Develop coaching relationships to improve workplace performance
  • Consistently demonstrate the attributes of an effective coach
  • Demonstrate an understanding of coaching models and how they can be applied to improve performance
  • Reflect on your own strengths and needs as a coach-mentor

The qualification is made up of a number of workshops, coach-mentoring sessions, knowledge modules, learning resources, self assessments and discussion threads.

Month 1

  • Facilitated trio telephone session with Coach Mentor Supervisor (CMS)
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Knowledge Module 1 - The Coaching Manual – Julie Starr
  • EMCC Foundation Level coaching and mentoring competences
  • Contracting and developing coaching and mentoring relationships – Discussion Thread 1

Month 2

  • Individual telephone session with CMS
  • Self-managed Action Learning Sets
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Online Learning Portal

Month 3

  • 1-day Skills Development Workshop – Coaching for Change and Adaptability
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Knowledge Module 2 - Coaching in Organisations: Between the lines – Keri Phillips
  • ‘The role of the Internal Coach’ - Discussion Thread 2

Month 4

  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Online Learning Portal 
  • Coaching ethics self-assessment
  • Self-facilitated Peer Coaching within Action Learning Sets

Month 5

  • Individual telephone session with CMS
  • 180 feedback benchmarking exercise
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • 'Ethical dilemmas for the internal coach' - Discussion Thread 3
  • Online Learning Portal
  • Knowledge Module 3 - Optional Topic

Months 6-7

  • Individual telephone session with CMS
  • 180 feedback benchmarking report
  • Re-visit and review EMCC Foundation Level coaching and mentoring competences
  • Submission file for assessment

Expenses

Full upfront qualification fees are:

Course fees are as follows:

  • Non-member: £2,950 + VAT
  • Member: £2,655 + VAT

The fees include all tuition, personal tutor support, assessment, course material and access to the dedicated Virtual Learning Environment. They do not include travel or accommodation.
