Intermediate Certificate in Organisational Coach-Mentoring - 6 month course resulting in qualification

The Certificate in Organisational Coach-mentoring is an intermediate/practitioner level qualification designed and run in collaboration with coaching and mentoring specialists The OCM (formerly the Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring). This certificate course will help participants to develop an understanding of the theory and practice of coaching and mentoring. The course is ideal for HR and L&D professionals aspiring to be highly effective coach-mentors and for professionals who have responsibility for developing coach-mentoring strategies within their organisations. 

Certificate in Organisational Coach-mentoring is professionally accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and holds a European Quality Award (EQA) at Practitioner Level. The course complies with the most up-to-date professional and occupational standards within the coaching profession and the code of ethics issued by the EMCC. The programme is also academically credit rated by Oxford Brookes University (OBU) with 20 CATS (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme) Credits at Level 5, Undergraduate Level.

The Certificate in Organisational Coach-mentoring consists of a number of workshops, coach-mentoring sessions, knowledge modules, learning resources, self assessments and discussion threads. The course is structured as follows:

Month 1

  • Facilitated trio telephone session with Coach Mentor Supervisor (CMS)
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Knowledge Module 1 - The Coaching Manual - Julie Starr
  • EMCC Foundation Level coaching and mentoring competences
  • 'Contracting and developing coaching and mentoring relationships' - Discussion Thread

Month 2

  • Individual telephone session with CMS
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Knowledge Module 2 - Coaching and Mentoring – Eric Parsloe and Mel Leedham
  • Peter Honey internet-based 'Learning Styles'
  • ‘The role of coaching and mentoring in organisations’ – Discussion Thread 2
  • Coaching values and behaviours self-assessment

Month 3

  • 1-day Skills Development Workshop – Coaching for Change and Adaptability
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Knowledge Module 3 - Coaching and Mentoring at Work 2nd Edition - Mary Connor and Julia Pokora
  • EMCC Practitioner Level coaching and mentoring competences
  • ‘Ethical dilemmas for the Internal Coach’ - Discussion Thread 3

Month 4

  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Knowledge Module 4 - Making Coaching Work - David Clutterbuck and David Megginson
  • Coaching ethics self-assessment
  • ‘Monitoring and evaluating coaching and mentoring in organisations’ – Discussion Thread 4
  • Self-facilitated Peer Coaching within Action Learning Sets

Months 5-6

  • Facilitated trio telephone session with CMS
  • 1-day Skills Development Workshop – Coaching to apply Psychological Insights
  • 180 feedback benchmarking exercise
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Knowledge Module 5 - The Psychology of Executive Coaching: Theory and Application 2nd Edition - Bruce Peltier
  • EMCC Practitioner Level coaching and mentoring competences re-visited

Months 7-8

  • Individual telephone session with CMS
  • 180 feedback benchmarking report
  • Coaching sessions with 3 x Coachees
  • Online Learning Portal
  • Knowledge Module 6 - Optional Topic 1

Months 9-11

  • Individual telephone session with CMS
  • Knowledge Module 7 - Optional Topic 2
  • Submission file for assessment

Expenses

The cost of this course is as follows:

CIPD Member Fees: £3,555 +VAT

Non-member Fees £3,950 + VAT

The fees include all tuition, personal tutor support, assessment, course material and access to the dedicated Virtual Learning Environment. They do not include travel or accommodation.
