One Week Fashion Business

This one-week intensive course is a broad introduction to the business side of fashion through key topics such as retail, branding, buying and merchandising, and PR. The key characteristics of the fashion industry – and the unique way fashion is marketed – will be considered, with reference to both “bricks and mortar” and digital consumer experiences.

The programme includes lectures, seminars, problem-solving workshops and case studies covering the following topics:

  • The fashion cycle, retail & distribution
  • Fashion branding
  • Digital and social media marketing
  • Buying and merchandising
  • Fashion brand communication
  • Fashion entrepreneurship and new business development
  • The future of fashion
  • Fashion PR

Suitability - Who should attend?

This short course is suitable for anyone who is interested in how the business side of the fashion industry works.

It is also useful as a taster – and overview – for anyone who is considering studying fashion business in the future.

There are no formal entry requirements but applicants must be 18 years or older by the start of the course, and have a good level of English.

  • Access to the Vogue archives
  • A visit to Vogue House
  • Industry speakers
  • Create a mock mini issue of Vogue

Students will finish the course with a greater understanding of the commercial side of the industry, particularly the retail, buying, branding, marketing and development sectors.
