5 Days of Fashion Business
This five-day intensive course is a broad introduction to the business side of fashion through key topics such as retail, branding, buying and merchandising, and PR. The key characteristics of the fashion industry – and the unique way fashion is marketed – will be considered, with reference to both “bricks and mortar” and digital consumer experiences.
The programme includes lectures, seminars, problem-solving workshops and case studies covering the following topics:
- The fashion cycle, retail & distribution
- Fashion branding
- Digital and social media marketing
- Buying and merchandising
- Fashion brand communication
- Fashion entrepreneurship and new business development
- The future of fashion
- Fashion PR
Suitability - Who should attend?
This short course is suitable for anyone who is interested in how the business side of the fashion industry works.
It is also useful as a taster – and overview – for anyone who is considering studying fashion business in the future.
There are no formal entry requirements.
Students must be aged at least 18 years old on 31st August at the start of the academic year in which they intend to join this course. An academic year runs 1st September-31st August annually. For the duration of the academic year, a student is considered to be their academic age for admissions purposes, regardless of when their birthday falls within that academic year.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
By the end of the course, you will receive a Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design Certificate of Completion.

- Access to the Vogue archives
- A visit to Vogue House
- Industry speakers
- Create a mock mini issue of Vogue
Students will finish the course with a greater understanding of the commercial side of the industry, particularly the retail, buying, branding, marketing and development sectors.

English Language Requirements
There are no formal English language requirements for this course. However, if you are a non-UK student and English is not your first language, we recommend you have an Academic IELTS score of 5.5 or be able to use English at this level before commencing your studies. It is your responsibility to ensure you will be able to participate fully in a qualification delivered and assessed in English.
