IGCSE Biology (Distance Learning)
How do I learn?
All of our GCSEs are studied entirely online with support from our GCSE coordinator and our specialist subject tutors.
You will be taught everything that you need to know to achieve 9 to 4 grades at GCSE through the learning materials, and your tutor will be on hand to support you over the phone, texts and via email. Throughout your studies you will be given access to the tailored learning materials, assessments and mock past papers which will be marked with feedback on how to improve, and how to achieve the highest grade possible in your exams.
Finding a centre and paying for it is your responsibility, but of course we are here to support you in arranging your exam.
The goal of you passing your GCSE with the highest grade possible is central to our learning materials, teaching, and feedback.

Suitability - Who should attend?
There are no set entry requirements for this IGCSE, but a good standard of written English is necessary to pass an IGCSE.
Training Course Content
On this course you prepare for your exams by learning about scientific knowledge and facts, concepts, principles, themes and patterns in Biology. You will learn how to use this knowledge in new and challenging situations and contexts and will appreciate the practical nature of Biology, developing experimental and investigative skills based on correct and safe laboratory techniques.
It is graded 9-1 (where 9 is the highest grade).
It is assessed completely through examination. Paper 1 is worth 61.1% of the entire IGCSE, and Paper 2 is worth 38.9% of the entire IGCSE. These exams will be held every Summer and January from 2019 and are externally assessed by Pearson Edexcel.
You will study:
- The nature and variety of living organisms
- Structures and functions in living organisms
- Reproduction and inheritance
- Ecology and the environment
- Use of biological resources
