The Apprenticeship includes units relating to; accounts preparation, preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, cost and revenues, indirect tax, spreadsheet software and professional ethics. You will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is awarded by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). The AAT is an internationally recognised professional body. Unless exempt on entry, you will also achieve Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths. Advanced apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Accounting; or onto a more senior role such as Accounts Manager. Advanced apprentices may also progress onto higher education and/or entry onto qualifications relating to memberships in the following professional bodies: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Suitability - Who should attend?
Entry is subject to interview and assessment. You will need to have relevant employment. In addition, you will need to have completed the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Accounting or have relevant experience and either have GCSE grade C / 4 or higher in English and Maths or be able to demonstrate ability equivalent to, or exceeding Level 2 in English and Maths.
