What does this programme involve?
The day will introduce students to the basic techniques of jewellery making using Silver. You will learn how to create a pendant or earrings to your own design and a simple band ring. In a relaxed environment you will experience using the piercing saw to cut out a shape of you own design, for a pendant or pair of earrings. You will be introduced to the skills of sawing, filing, drilling, soldering, texturing and polishing. The class will be taught as a group and you will produce a simple design of you own with guidance and support from your tutor.
How is the programme taught and assessed?
Students will be taught by demonstration and hands on experience. You will learn as a group learning how to produce and create your own individual design idea.
What else do I need to know?
This course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn the basics of jewellery making using Sterling Silver or Copper. You will have full instruction of all techniques and work in a relaxed and fun environment.
What career opportunities can this lead to?
Students will be able to progress on to the longer Jewellery courses.
