Bespoke Saddler - Level 3 - Apprenticeship Standard
Making and repairing horse saddles.
Entry requirements
Set by employer, but typically candidates will have experience working with leather products. Being able to double hand and single/back stitch would be an advantage.
Qualifications
Before taking their end-point assessment apprentices must: * have achieved English and maths GCSE grades 9 to 4 (equivalent to A* to C) * have completed a level 3 diploma in saddlery (bridle and saddle making)
What apprentices will learn
- pattern measuring and construction
- hand and machine stitching
- using, maintaining and storing work equipment
- how to select and buy the right materials
- assembling and finishing products
