Apprenticeship Description

Electrical Power Networks Engineer [previously Power Networks Engineer] - Level 4 - Apprenticeship Standard

Working in an engineering team to maintain and repair assets on the electricity network.

Entry requirements

Typically 2 A levels at grade A-C in maths and a science, including English GCSE grade A/B or an equivalent level 3 engineering qualification eg National Certificate in Engineering or relevant experience.

Qualifications

 Apprentices must achieve level 2 English and mathematics prior to taking the end-point assessment for the apprenticeship if they haven’t achieved them on entry.

What apprentices will learn

  • Providing engineering solutions to solve complex electricity network scenarios in order to safely manage electricity supplies in normal and abnormal conditions.
  • Undertaking engineering activities to plan, manage, control, construct, replace, maintain and repair assets on the electricity network
