Course description

ILM Certified 7 Key Skills PA Management 6 week E-Learning Programme. Friday 23rd April 2021, Friday 30th April, Friday 7th May, Friday 14th May, Friday 21st May, Friday 28th May 2021 at 12.30-2pm GMT.

The ILM Certified 7 Key Skills PA Management E-Learning Programme has been devised to meet the demand for a comprehensive programme that increases the confidence and abilities of Assistants at work and develops them both professionally and personally. The 7 Key Skills are a blueprint for the modern role to enable Assistants to measure their capabilities, strengths and weaknesses against each one of the 7 Key Skills and through assessment, learning and reflection upskill. The programme has passed assessment by Birkbeck, University of London, CPD Standards Office and the ILM (City & Guilds Group) and each participant is eligible for a complimentary CPD Standards Office Certificate & ILM 7 Key Skills PA Management Certificate, which is £100.

Module 1: The Strategic Business Support PA Part I (1.5 hours)

  • Introduction: Identify the qualities that make a great Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant
  • Review your Organisational Efficiency
  • Undertake assessment of the Working Style of you and your Executives
  • Explore your Strengths and Weaknesses
  • What impact is Right & Left Brain Thinking having on your relationship with your Executive?
  • Discover your Manager’s Temperament and how to respond effectively
  • Undertake in depth analysis of your Time Management performance
  • Explore how to Prioritise your Tasks

Module 2: The Strategic Business Support PA Part II (1.5 hours)

  • Managing your Manager – how to develop your strategic thinking skills and effective execution of your priorities
  • Increase your Commercial & Business Awareness and how it applies to the organisation you work for
  • Develop your Project Management capabilities to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Group work on a Project Management Case Study
  • Minutes of Meetings - top tips on note taking and listening in meetings
  • Positive Energy & Wellbeing – How to boost your Mental Energy

Module 3: The Confident PA Communicator Part I (1.5 hours)

  • Introduction – The benefits of good Communication Skills
  • The 6 non-verbal communication skills – Body Language, Listening, Confidence, Managing Emotions, Written Communication
  • Measuring your Assertiveness – what stops us being Assertive?
  • Situations in which to be more Assertive
  • How to use th 6 types of Assertiveness in different situations

Module 4: The Confident PA Communicator Part II (1.5 hours)

  • How to manage difficult situations using coaching techniques
  • Explore how to use negotiation and influencing techniques in your communication
  • What Type of Team Player Are You?
  • Review the role of team players and the impact of different personalities on team performance
  • Complete assessment of your Belbin Team Player role
  • Positive Energy & Wellbeing – Managing Stress with Physical Exercise

Module 5: The Executive PA Manager Part 1 (1.5 hours)

  • Introduction to Leaders and their different Leadership Styles
  • Review of ‘Goleman Leadership Styles’
  • How to step up into your EA & PA Leadership & Management capabilities
  • Discover how Emotional Intelligence understanding enhances job performance
  • Get to know yourself, understand your feelings, perceive yourself accurately and cultivate confidence and self esteem
  • Discover how to recognise and manage the Amygdala
  • Complete assessment of your Emotional Intelligence

Module 6: The Executive PA Manager Part II (1.5 hours)

  • Introduction - What is Personal Branding & why is it important in a Digital Age?
  • What does a successful Personal Brand look like?
  • First Impressions – why do we click with some people and not others?
  • How to build your Personal Brand Identity – your skills, interests and passions
  • Receive 360 degree feedback on your Personal Brand
  • Create a Personal Brand Statement
  • Becoming the Brand Ambassador for your organisation
  • Positive Energy & Wellbeing – How to manage your emotions & moods
  • Summary of the 7 Key Skills PA Management Programme
