Is this course right for me?

This qualification is aimed at managers and those with significant responsibility for effective coaching and mentoring as part of their daily role within an organisational context. This qualification is also ideal for individuals who wish to move into a development role or start a career as a freelance coach or mentor.

This is also a valuable programme for HR and Learning & Development professionals who want to gain a recognised qualification to enhance and accredit their experience with a recognised qualification.

Are there any formal entry requirements?

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, we advise that before registering onto the programme, you have carefully considered how you will meet and undertake the required practical coaching and mentoring hours as part of the qualification (54 hours for this qualification).

For our online programmes, you are required to have access to suitable IT resources (access to a laptop/PC/iPad/tablet) and an internet connection to be able to access the ‘live’ online workshops.

Training Course Content

This qualification is made up of three core modules that enable you to understand, develop and demonstrate the required levels of knowledge and skills to deliver effective coaching and mentoring.

  • The first module ‘Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring within an Organisational Context’ provides you with an understanding of the skills, principles and practice required for effective coaching or mentoring within an organisational context.
  • In the second module ‘Undertaking an Extended Period of Effective Coaching or Mentoring within an Organisational Context’, you are required to plan and prepare to deliver a coaching or mentoring programme to support a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 9 individuals over 54 hours. You are also required to engage in and evidence a minimum of 3 hours of supervision for this module. To support your coaching and mentoring practice, you will learn about a range of coaching and mentoring models, tools and techniques.
  • In the final module ‘Reviewing Own Ability as a Coach or Mentor within an Organisational Context’, you are required to holistically review your ability to perform effectively as a coach or mentor within an organisational context. As part of the course you will engage in ongoing reflective practice and learn about a selection of reflective practice models and techniques.
