HCUC (Harrow College & Uxbridge College)Course description
The programme has been designed for students who wish to pursue a career in Nursing and/or Health related fields, returners to education or healthcare assistants.
COURSE CONTENT
IT, Biology, Psychology, Sociology, Research Skills, Study Skills and complete a Work Experience placement. English, numeracy and IT skills are developed as part of the programme.
STUDY METHODS
Group discussion, video, tutorial, lecture, practical work, role play, resource based learning, hospital/care work experience, presentations and small group work.
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED
Coursework, essays, exams and presentations. You will be required to submit a completed portfolio of units to the awarding body. On successful completion of the course you will be awarded an Access to Higher Education - Diploma in Nursing by the Open College Network London Region.
WHERE NEXT - FURTHER STUDIES
Entry to Nursing Degree or vocational training for health careers e.g. Radiography, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Midwifery, Health promotion.
