French - Beginners - PT Evening
Beginners: Students will study a range of situations involving speaking, listening and understanding simple written materials, in the following areas: personal identification, social contact, The family, occupation, time, calendar, weather, numbers, food and drink, shopping, accommodation, leisure activities and hobbies. The aim is for students to develop skills in speaking the language in everyday tourist situations, understanding French that is likely to be said, reading simple messages and signs and understanding some of the basic structures of the language. As part of your course and where the opportunity occurs literacy/numeracy together with speaking and listening skills will be developed.
Continuation: Students will learn to communicate in a range of situations involving speaking, listening and understanding simple written materials, in the following areas: personal identification, social contact, the family, occupation, time, calendar, weather, numbers, food and drink, shopping, accommodation, leisure activities and hobbies. Students will develop sufficient knowledge and understanding of the language in order to converse in everyday tourist situations and acquire sufficient reading knowledge to understand simple messages and signs.As part of your course and where the opportunity occurs literacy/numeracy together with speaking and listening skills will be developed.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Beginners: None
Continuation: To have studied French for approximately 30 hours or have basic knowledge of the language.
Who is the course for?
Beginners: For adults with no or very little knowledge of the French language.
Continuation: For people who have studied French at beginner level for approximately 30 hours.

Continuing Studies
Beginners: A basic understanding of spoken and written French in mainly tourist situations.
Continuation: Improved modern language skills, progression is to the French Intermediate course.
