German - Beginners - PT Evening
Beginners: Students will study a range of situations involving speaking, listening together with understanding simple written materials, in the following areas: personal identification, social contact, the family, occupation, time, calendar, weather, numbers, food and drink, shopping, accommodation, leisure activities and hobbies. Students will gain a basic understanding of the linguistic structures underpinning the language. Confidence will be developed and reflected in a willingness to use the language with increasing fluency.
As part of your course and where the opportunity occurs, literacy/numeracy together with speaking and listening skills will be developed
Continuation: This course is designed as a progression from the German Beginners course.

Suitability - Who should attend?
- Beginners Course: None
- Continuation course: to have studied German for at least 30 hours or have basic knowledge of the language.
- Extension Course: To have studied German for at least 50 hours or have basic knowledge of the language.
Who is the course for?
- Beginner’s course: for adults with no or very little knowledge of the German language
- Continuation course: for those who have studied German for approximately 30 hours
- Extension course: for people who have studied German for at least 50 hours at the beginners and continuation level.
Course delivery details
Pair work, flash cards, magazine extracts, dialogue, role play, worksheets, class activities, listening to CD's and using video clips from websites.
Continuing Studies
- Beginners Course: A basic understanding of spoken and written German in mainly tourist situations. Progression is to the Beginners Continuation course.
- Continuation & Extension Course: Improved modern language skills.
