This course is for those anyone who wishing to learn how to play the guitar.
Learners will make a small step every week and progress towards playing simple popular songs with confidence; content will include the following topics: String names and numbers Tuning your guitar Introduction to chords Introduction to rhythm Strumming Introduction to finger picking Simple barre chords Playing riffs Right and left hand techniques Right and left hand co-ordination By the end of the course students will be able to play some simple popular tunes. As part of your course and where the opportunity occurs literacy/numeracy together with speaking and listening skills will be developed.
Introductory talk and demonstration to the whole group followed by one on one with each student. PRACTISING AT HOME IS VERY IMPORTANT AND VITAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COURSE.

Record of Progress sheets for each student based on visual and aural assessment.
