This course is for beginners wanting to learn Microsoft Office Excel. This spreadsheet programme is used in almost all businesses.
Ribbon, tabs and groups Quick access toolbar Open, close, enter data, save, print Insert/delete rows and columns Adjust column width and row height Move data - cut, copy and paste Enhancing the appearance of data Create a new spreadsheet Name and rename worksheets Hide/unhide rows, columns and worksheets Freeze/unfreeze rows and columns Select cells, rows, columns and special ranges Creating charts & graphs Basic formulae Basic functions used in calculations: Sum, Average, Count Data sort and filters As part of your course and where the opportunity occurs literacy/numeracy together with speaking and listening skills will be developed.

Ongoing informal tutor and self assessment.
WHERE NEXT - FURTHER STUDIES
Skills developed will enable students to use Excel to create spreadsheets and use them to present and analyse data, produce graphs, conduct calculations, sort data etc. Progression is to Further Microsoft Excel.
