Course description
Building on knowledge from Level 1, British Sign Language beginners level 2 introduces more complex vocabulary and linguistic skills. It is suitable for those who:
- wish to converse with deaf people on everyday matters, giving and receiving opinions
- wish to advance from BSL 1
- want to progress to more advanced study and/or employment using BSL in the future
- are parents, family, friends or colleagues of deaf people
The syllabus includes a number of topics:
Everyday Conversation
Eating and Drinking
Spending and Shopping
Travel and Holidays
On successful completion, learners will be able to participate in longer and more varied conversations than at Level 1, including dealing with most routine communication and having enough understanding of grammar to cope with some non-routine communication.
