Course description
This course is suitable for those who have already studied French for 2 terms. Although the main focus of the course is the effective use of French in practical situations, students will also develop a fuller understanding of French Grammar. This will enable them to improve their proficiency in all 4 skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the foreign language. By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to: practise making bookings in a hotel; request and give road directions; learn about road signs; talk about buying petrol at the service station, car breakdowns and parking; describe locations and positions; talk about the internet; describe parts of the body and health problems; describe holidays and weekends; prepare a CV and a job interview; talk about past events and say what you are going to do next; learn new points of grammar, including irregular verbs in the present tense, the immediate future, the perfect tense, relative pronouns, expressing periods of time, prepositions and adverbial expressions.
