Course description
In this course students are introduced to design styles and themes, aspects of lightening and the use of colour. Students are encouraged to develop their own creative brief, considering the function and use of the room, prepare a room survey and draw a basic plan. By the end of the course they will have the opportunity to: have a basic appreciation of different themes and styles; to develop their own creative brief; have a knowledge of reference sources for their interest and taste; to measure and produce a simple scale plan of a room; understand principle colour schemes and how and where to incorporate them; have an understanding of lighting effects in a room etc.
