Course description
In this course students will be able to build on their previous knowledge to develop further the four language skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening), although particular emphasis will be given to speaking and listening activities. The course will be based on communicative methods and active participation from all students will be strongly encouraged. A variety of activities will be used including role-plays, watching films, group work, games and listening to CDs. The language will be taught in the context of the cultural and social aspects of Italy. Grammar will also be an essential component of the course. Regular homework will be assigned to consolidate what has been learnt in class and to assess the students’ progress. Although many materials will be supplied by the tutors, students are advised to purchase a book of exercises. By the end of term you will have covered the following topics: the human body, our health, studying in Italy, our work and future projects.You will have also covered the following grammar: consolidation of the imperfect tense and its use, the imperative, the future tense.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Students who have already studied Italian for at least five terms or have completed the second term of Improvers at Hills Road are welcome.
