Japanese Beginners Level 1

This course will suit beginners who have no previous knowledge of Japanese or those who need to refresh their memories. The aim of the course is to develop your confidence and ability to communicate effectively in authentic situations such as social occasions, towns, hotels and shops. The focus of the course is on conversation, i.e. listening and speaking. Hand-outs will be provided by the tutor. This course feeds into Beginners Level 2 and Level 3 in subsequent terms. By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to: Greet people and introduce yourself; Use numbers; ask the size, colour and country of origin of an item and say how many you need, in a shop; talk about times and dates; take part in a simple conversation about holidays and the weekend; talk about the whereabouts of things and people and spell your name in Japanese.
