Painting with Oils ; Acrylics

The course is suitable absolute beginners as well as those with some experience. The objective of the course is for students to gain confidence with paint and to be able to find their own artistic voice through painting exercises, techniques, experimentation. Beginning to paint can seem intimidating, this course aims to equip you with the knowledge and enthusiasm to set you on your way. You will be using acrylics and oil paints to explore techniques deployed by other artists and to produce paint sketches and/or finished paintings. It enables you to gain confidence in use of colour, tone, mark marking and composition; to find different ways of working that will suit your personal approach, eg abstract or figurative, expressionistic or controlled; to think about what subjects, artists and ideas inspire you.
